A Chelsea young talent, who has been making a strong case for attention, might seek a move for more game time after scoring during international duty.

Chelsea’s highly-rated youngster Cesare Casadei is drawing interest from European clubs and could leave Stamford Bridge to secure more game time. The 21-year-old impressed once again for Italy’s Under-21 side, scoring in their 2-2 draw with France, further highlighting his potential. However, with limited opportunities at Chelsea, a move elsewhere may be necessary for him to reach his full potential.

Casadei, who joined Chelsea from Inter Milan’s youth academy in 2022 for €14.86m plus €5m in potential bonuses, has yet to make a Premier League appearance this season. While he has featured in the Conference League and League Cup, the club’s midfield is packed with world-class players like Enzo Fernandez, Moisés Caicedo, and Romeo Lavia, leaving little room for him to break through.

Reports from Italy suggest that Casadei could consider a return to Serie A in January, with Monza, managed by Alessandro Nesta, showing interest as they aim to strengthen their squad after a challenging start to the season. Casadei previously had successful loan spells at Reading and Leicester City before being recalled by Chelsea last season.

Although the player and club opted for him to remain at Chelsea last summer to adapt under the new manager, it now seems clear that regular minutes will be hard to come by. This has fueled speculation of a potential move during the winter transfer window. Chelsea, meanwhile, will face Leicester in their next Premier League match on Saturday at 12:30 pm.
