Bukayo Saka admits he wishes he had a certain “intimidating” quality that his £27m Arsenal teammate possesses.

Bukayo Saka is widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s top talents. The England international has been outstanding for both club and country, consistently improving with each passing season. His skill set is remarkable, showcasing qualities most Premier League players can only dream of. Yet, there’s one attribute Saka feels he lacks but admires in his Arsenal teammate Gabriel Magalhães.

Arsenal signed Gabriel from Lille for £27 million in the summer of 2020. Since then, the Brazilian has become a key figure at the club, delivering consistent performances and forming a formidable defensive partnership with William Saliba. His defensive solidity is complemented by his threat in attacking set-pieces, often scoring crucial goals from corners.

In an interview, Saka was asked if there was a skill from a teammate he would like to adopt. He responded: “I want to be able to header like Gabriel Magalhães!”

Gabriel’s aerial prowess has made him one of the Premier League’s most dangerous defenders during set-pieces. Ben White even described him as “scary” in these situations. Gabriel has scored 16 Premier League goals for Arsenal, putting him on track to break Laurent Koscielny’s record of 22 goals as the club’s highest-scoring defender. Remarkably, Gabriel has achieved this in just 143 appearances, compared to Koscielny’s 255.
