Chelsea are keen on pursuing a significant transfer for Barcelona’s right-back.

Chelsea are reportedly preparing a significant move to strengthen their defense by targeting Barcelona’s star right-back, Jules Koundé. According to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the London club is ready to offer €65 million for the French international, who has also been linked with Liverpool in the past.

Koundé, 25, has become a key figure at Barcelona since joining the club and is highly valued by manager Hansi Flick. Despite Barcelona’s reluctance to part ways with the talented defender, their financial challenges could make them consider such a substantial offer next summer. Currently earning €260,577 gross per week, Koundé’s departure would provide some financial relief to the Catalan giants.

Chelsea, with their attacking line performing strongly, are focusing on reinforcing their backline for the upcoming season. The Frenchman’s versatility and defensive prowess align perfectly with their tactical needs. As the Blues aim to secure a Champions League spot, manager Enzo Maresca and the squad are eager to make strategic additions during the next transfer window.
