Chelsea on alert as the Osimhen transfer race takes a new turn.
Galatasaray are reportedly planning a player-plus-cash deal to sign Victor Osimhen next summer, according to Turkish sources.
The Nigerian international joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli this summer after being pushed out due to Antonio Conte’s arrival at Napoli’s Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.
Osimhen was previously linked with moves to Al-Hilal and Paris Saint-Germain, with Chelsea also heavily rumored to be pursuing him.
However, Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea side couldn’t reach an agreement with Napoli, leading Osimhen to join Galatasaray on loan instead.
Chelsea remains interested in a potential 2025 move for Osimhen, despite Nicolas Jackson’s recent strong form. Still, they face stiff competition, including from Newcastle United, who entered the race amid uncertainty over Alexander Isak’s future. Fenerbahce has also shown interest, as reported by Turkiye Today.
Galatasaray is expected to be Chelsea’s primary rival for Osimhen, with the Turkish club preparing a swap deal offer that might include players like Davinson Sanchez, Baris Alper Yilmaz, or Yunus Akgun to help lower Osimhen’s €75 million release clause, according to Milliyet.
Osimhen has scored eight goals and made four assists in nine appearances for Galatasaray, with an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) now at €63.1m.
What has Victor Osimhen said? There have been reports of a potential January exit, but Osimhen recently dismissed such rumors, expressing his commitment to Galatasaray for the season.
“I’m here as a Galatasaray player, I’m happy here,” he said. “Since I came, the Galatasaray fans, the club, I saw how big a family this club is. The way they have treated me and my family in a wonderful manner. It’s important to be able to give them my all on the pitch. I’ve seen a lot of the speculation linking me out of the club in January; I can state through me now I’m going to be here until the end of the season.”
