Florentino Perez, the President of Real Madrid, would prioritize signing Kylian Mbappe over keeping Vinicius Junior if he has to make a choice.
Real Madrid have yet to find their rhythm this season, and one major issue has been their frontline. Last year, Carlo Ancelotti skillfully balanced the attack with Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo Goes, and Vinicius Junior leading the charge, but the addition of Kylian Mbappe this season has disrupted the team’s offensive dynamics.
Bellingham is being played out of his usual position, Rodrygo’s appearances have been inconsistent, and Mbappe is also out of position. Ancelotti has opted to place Mbappe at center-forward instead of Vinicius, raising concerns in Mbappe’s camp about his start in Madrid. They worry that this tactical choice might hinder Mbappe’s progress if he continues to be used as a central striker.
According to Sport, one challenge is that Vinicius is currently more decisive, which makes the team reluctant to shift him out of the position Mbappe prefers. Local media have started to criticize Mbappe, adding to the concern in his camp. However, if the two players cannot work together effectively, Mbappe and his family are aware that Real Madrid President Florentino Perez would favor him over Vinicius.
While it’s still early in Mbappe’s Real Madrid career, the club is optimistic that there is ample time to establish a successful partnership between the two. Still, it’s notable that these reports follow months of speculation about Vinicius potentially moving to Saudi Arabia on a record-breaking contract.
