Kai Havertz sustains serious injury, leaving Arsenal forward and physio covered in blood.

Kai Havertz was left bloodied after sustaining a gruesome injury in the final moments of Arsenal’s Champions League loss to Inter Milan. The match’s only goal came from Hakan Calhanoglu, who scored a penalty, handing the Gunners a narrow defeat.

Arsenal was pressing for a late equalizer at the San Siro when Havertz went for a header in the box, colliding heavily with Inter defender Yann Aurel Bisseck, who was equally determined to clear the ball. Havertz fared worse in the clash, blood streaming down his face as he sat dazed by the sideline. The Arsenal physio, attending to him urgently, ended up with blood smeared across the front of his jacket.

Due to the severe nature of Havertz’s head injury, Mikel Arteta had no option but to substitute him. Martin Odegaard, making his first appearance since September after recovering from an ankle injury, replaced the German forward. Despite Odegaard’s efforts, Arsenal couldn’t find the net, with Inter holding firm under pressure to secure all three points.
