According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, both City and Liverpool are keen on Valverde, though securing such a transfer seems like a long shot.

Manchester City, in particular, have a pressing need for reinforcements in midfield due to Rodri’s injury. The Spanish midfielder has been a pivotal player for Pep Guardiola’s team, recently earning the Ballon d’Or for his contributions to City’s treble-winning campaign and Spain’s national team success. However, Rodri’s absence has been deeply felt, with City losing four consecutive games across all competitions.

Valverde could be an ideal solution to fill the void left by Rodri, but Real Madrid are under no financial pressure to sell, leaving City and Liverpool with limited leverage.
