Gutierrez, 23, has been a standout at Girona, making 12 appearances this season and contributing one goal and two assists. Despite his success, he hasn’t done enough to convince Madrid of his suitability for a return, particularly with Davies’ arrival reportedly close to completion.

Real Madrid’s buyback option for Gutierrez will remain valid, increasing incrementally to €9 million and €10 million over the next two seasons.
