Significant development in Luke Shaw’s injury situation
Luke Shaw is reaching another important point in his recovery journey.
The left-back seems closer to returning to the pitch, as he has rejoined team training. Sky Sports’ Ben Random shared video footage from today’s Manchester United training session, showing Shaw and Christian Eriksen in the middle of a drill, attempting to intercept passes from their teammates.
Fans will be happy to see the progress, with other recently injured players joining in. In the footage, Eriksen and Shaw are seen at the center of the exercise, having just resumed training with the team. Leny Yoro and Tyrell Malacia are also part of the circle.
Shaw’s long injury struggle Shaw is eager to be back in the lineup after a lengthy spell on the sidelines. The England international has been out nearly a year, having suffered an injury early in the year.
The injury occurred in Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Luton Town last season when Shaw was subbed off just before halftime, replaced by Victor Lindelof. Since then, except for a brief appearance at Euro 2024, Shaw hasn’t played since February.
This February injury was just one of several setbacks for Shaw. He was ruled out twice last season before the Luton game, and after recovering enough to play in the Euros, he sustained another muscle injury in August, keeping him out for the start of the current season.
