The reserve squad currently ranks fourth in the Premier League 2 standings, boasting six victories from eight games. This success has been largely driven by Trey Nyoni and Tyler Morton, who balance their commitments between the youth team and the senior squad.

Absent from the lineup, however, are Ben Doak, Owen Beck, and Lewis Koumas, all regulars last season but now on loan in the Championship.

James McConnell was also set to go on loan during the last transfer window, but an ankle injury has kept him in Liverpool for treatment. As a result, he has yet to join a matchday squad this season.

With his return eagerly awaited, many expect McConnell to challenge for first-team minutes, whether on loan or directly with Liverpool, much like Nyoni and Morton. His comeback is highly anticipated by Reds supporters, hopeful for what lies ahead.
