Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso has confirmed that goalkeeper Mike Penders will start against Liverpool in Wednesday’s EFL Cup clash.
Penders made a costly own-goal error against Tottenham, but Alonso has backed the 21-year-old to bounce back.
Chelsea will also be without suspended Cole Palmer, while Joao Pedro remains a doubt.
